The categories of membership of the ACPE are as follows:

Fellows (FACPE)

  • Fully qualified medical or dental professionals in good standing.
  • Senior and accomplished members of the physician executive community.
  • Demonstrable evidence of both formal achievement and peer recognition within their chosen career.
  • A minimum of five years full-time (or equivalent) experience in a physician executive role at senior level recognised as such by the Membership Committee.
  • Preferably (but not mandatory) a formal post-graduate (Master’s level) qualification in a related field.

Members (MACPE)

  • Fully qualified medical or dental professionals in good standing.
  • Demonstrable evidence of both formal achievement and peer recognition within their chosen career.
  • A minimum of two years full-time (or equivalent) experience in a physician executive role recognised as such by the Membership Committee
  • Preferably (but not mandatory) a formal post-graduate (Master’s level) qualification in a related field, or progress towards same.

Associate

  • Fully qualified medical or dental professional in good standing.
  • Either just starting a career as physician executive, or are interested in pursuing a career as a physician executive in the future.

Benefits of membership

  • Fellows and Members of the ACPE can use the various post-nominals in official titles and correspondence.
  • Certain leadership positions in the College can only be held be Fellows, or Members, as the case may be.
  • Certain career opportunities may only be available to certain levels of membership.
  • Unprecedented access to a network of peers.
  • Exclusive access to dedicated programs, benefits, career opportunities.
  • Opportunity to contribute and shape the development of this unique specialism within healthcare.

How to join

There are three steps to submit your application for membership of the ACPE:

  • Complete the online application form;
  • Attach supporting documentation; these can be scanned but must be certified copies of the original documents;
  • Pay the application fee of $200 by credit card via the PayPal portal.

Upon review of your application, you may be requested to provide additional or clarifying information if required. You will be advised of the outcome of your application within 10 days. Each application for membership is reviewed by the Membership Committee prior to ratification.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your application, you may request in writing for the decision to be reviewed.  The decision of the Executive Committee will be deemed final in each instance. If you do not accept the decision of the Executive Committee, you may withdraw your application for membership of the College and request a refund of your application fee less $100 for administrative costs.
